Knicks Host Bulls on Christmas Day Affair by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

The New York Knicks (17-12) will try to begin a new winning streak when they host the Chicago Bulls (18-9) Christmas Day at noon.  The game features a matchup of two free agent acqusitions at the power forward position, with Carlos Boozer, who missed the first 15 games with a broken hand, and Amar’e Stoudemire, who is second in the National Basketball Association(NBA) in scoring with 26.4 points.
The game features a wonderful matchup at the point guard position as well, with Derrick Rose, seventh in the league in scoring with 24.3 points, and eighth in the league in assists with 8.4, going against Raymond Felton, averaging 18.2 ponts and 9.1 assists, good for fifth in the league.
The Bulls are 9-3 since Boozer’s return.  The Bulls rank in the top five as a team in rebounds per game, and blocks per game.
Derrick Rose is the only player in the NBA currently averaging 24.0 or more points a game and 8.0 assists or more per game.
Today’s game will air on ESPN, and will mark the third time the Knicks have appeared in ESPN since December 15, 2010.
