Nets Knocked Off by Trailblazers by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

The New Jersey Nets led by as many as 13 points in the first half, taking a 45-32 lead on a jump hook by Brook Lopez with 4:50 left in the second quarter, and were clinging to an 87-86 fourth-quarter lead after a jumper by Sasha Vujacic, but the Portland Trailblazers would hold the Nets scoreless for nearly four minutes, going on a 7-0 run to take a 93-87 lead, and eventually won, 96-89.
Lopez led the Nets with 32 points on 12-19 scoring, a day after scoring 35 points on 13-19 shooting against the National Basketball Association defending champion Los Angeles Lakers.  Travis Outlaw was the only other starter in double figures, with 11 points and 7 rebounds.  Vujacic came off the bench to add 13 points.
The Trailblazers were lead by LaMarcus Aldridge, who scored 27 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 5 assists.  Nicolas Batum added 26 points and 6 rebounds, while Andre Miller chipped in with 19 points and 8 assists.  Wesley Matthews scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
The Golden State Warriors host the New Jersey Nets Monday at 4pm.
