Houston Rockets Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson Talk Kentucky, Final Four by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

Chuck Hayes and Patrick Patterson, both of the Houston Rockets, are also Kentucky Wildcats.  We had a chance to chat with both, who are in Houston tonight for the Final Four matchup between their Kentucky Wildcats and the Connecticut Huskies.

Patrick Patterson, an NBA rookie this season, made it to the Elite Eight as a member of the Kentucky Wildcats last season.  His Kentucky team saw John Wall taken first overall, DeMarcus Cousins taken fifth overall, Patterson taken 15th overall, Eric Bledsoe taken 18th overall and Daniel Orton taken 29th overall, a record for one team.

Still, with five first rounders, last year’s Kentucky Wilcats team was unable to make it to the Final Four, like this year’s team has done.

Chuck Hayes made it to the Elite Eight in both 2002-2003 and 2004-2005, so the current Kentucky team has advanced further than he has as well in the NCAA tournament.
