Daily Debate: Dallas Mavericks or Miami Heat, Who Will Win?

Last night, the Miami Heat, led by LeBron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade, defeated Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls 83-80 a day after the Dallas Mavericks, led by Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, and Jason Terry, defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 100-96.  Who will win the NBA Finals and become the 2011 NBA champions, the Heat or the Mavericks?  Voice your opinion on the Razz and Jazz Sports Blog Daily Debate.

  1. Al says:

The Heat will be live in Five! LeBron gets his ring.

  2. Mike says:

Give me Dallas in 6. It was really hard for me to come to a conclusion but after thinking about some of the matchups I think it makes sense. The argument of who’s on Lebron and Wade is a pretty good one, however, we’ve seen similar arguments in these playoffs with who’s guarding westbrook, Durant, the height of the blazers guards and even Kobe Bryant. It could be a similar result. And at the end of the day I don’t think there is anyone in the NBA who can guard Dirk. With JJ Barea looking like Nash 2.0 that’s a tough matchup for Miami.

  3. Derrel "Jazz" Johnson says:

I’m probably going to the Miami Heat in six. The 2-3-2 format is keeping me from picking them in five. Too much LeBron, Wade, and Bosh will offset Dirk, who will be slowed down a bit. Here’s the difference, LeBron and Wade are better than Durant and Westbrook. James and Wade can also beat you with the pass, plus add Bosh, and a nightmare for Dallas. JJ Barea will be slowed down too

  4. Chris Ross says:

Miami but I’m cheering for Dirk and the Mavs. They have a legit shot but I don’t see it happening, especially with Lebron playing so well. I think a big key is the defence and you saw it in the OKC series compared to the Chi-Mia series. It was so difficult to even get a field-goal at times during the Miami series yet the OKC series was more of that run and gun regular season style that we’re used to. That’s the key IMO.

  5. Go, Dallas! I too don’t like the Heat, primarily because of the way LeBron & co. decided to announce The Decision, taking up a whole hour on TV to announce their playing together and their greatness, prematurely promising championships for Miami when they hadn’t even played together yet. Reminds me a bit of Chris Webber making a comment about how if the “Fab Five” from Michigan were drafted together on the same NBA team, that the team would win championships. And I believe this was after his Michigan team had lost in the NCAAs.
