Daily Debate: Which NFL Team Should Sign Plaxico Burress?

Former Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress was released from prison this morning after serving 20 months for carrying an illegal handgun.  Once the National Football League Labor Dispute is resolved, what NFL teams should try to acquire the free agent, who will be 34 when the season begins?  Voice your opinion on the Razz and Jazz Sports Blog Daily Debate.

    I think he should go to St. Louis. They lack a true #1 receiver and he would be playing for a coach that knows him in Spagnolo.

    My guess would be the Miami Dolphins. If you put Plaxico with Brandon Marshall and Davone Bess, they would be tough to stop if they can just find a quarterback. However, I really think the Patriots should take a look at Burress.

    Let’s take a look at the scenario:
    When Randy Moss left the Patriots, it did help their locker room, but it did leave them without a guy who could stretch the field vertically. That is something Burress can do. He goes up for the ball better than almost anyone in the NFL. If Belichick gives him a look in a workout and likes what he sees, he would be a player who is focusing on football and nothing else, but would be a cog in the Patriots’ offensive machine rather than the main piece.
