Daily Debate: Will The New York Yankees Season End Today?

The New York Yankees trail the Detroit Tigers 2-1 in the American League Divisional Series and send 11-11 starter AJ Burnett and his 5.15 ERA to the mound with the season on the line, a product of Friday’s suspended game.  Will the Yankees force a decisive game five or will their season end?  Voice your opinion on the Razz and Jazz Sports Blog Daily Debate.

  1. Keyez says:

In an ironic twist, the rain suspension from Friday puts that Yankees key issue under the magnifying glass which is pitching. Couple that with the slumbering bats and it is a recipe for a Yankee vacation starting tonight. My prediction: Tigers win tonight 6-4 and send the Yankees into an offseason in which it will be mandatory to buy a better pitching staff if they hope to raise the 28 receipt aka a world championship. Better question at that point is do they seize the chance to upgrade at the SS position and grab Reyes and move Jeter to left field?

    • Great question on Reyes, and I pointed out that which ever team lost could directly blame the rainout. If Yankees win in five, Detroit doesn’t have Verlander, and if the Yankees lose tonight they never intended to pitch Burnett
