Daily Debate: If Granderson Doesn’t Make Catch, Do Yankees Win?

With the bases loaded on three walks (one intentional) two outs, and reliever Cory Wade warming up in the first inning of last night’s New York Yankees/Detroit Tigers game, Don Kelly hammered the ball and Curtis Granderson make a spectacular catch that saved three runs and kept AJ Burnett in the game.  If Granderson doesn’t make that catch, do the New York Yankees win?  Voice your opinion on the Razz and Jazz Sports Blog Daily Debate.

  1. JW says:

If Grandy doesn’t make that catch, AJ Burnett likely doesn’t see the end of the first inning, and even if the Yankees still manage to win, their bullpen would have been largely spent heading into Game 5.

    • Strongly agree with the first half, the stadium is energized and the relievers that come in are going to be the best of their bullpen, not the back of the bullpen we saw last night for the Tigers.

  2. I agree with JW. I don’t think the Yankees would win simply because of how unreliable AJ Burnett is and how fast his pitching goes from good to bad or vice versa.

  3. Mike says:

I think that catch was a tremendous boost to the Yankees winning that game and Burnett lasting as long as he did in that game. But in the grand scheme of things, who knows if the Yankees would have won without that catch, but what I do know is that they may be headed for trouble if A-Rod and Texiera don’t get going.
