Daily Debate: Will the Jets Defeat the Chargers?

The 3-3 New York Jets host the San Diego Chargers tomorrow at Met Life Stadium.  Will Mark Sanchez, Darrelle Revis, the Jets show they are back on track and win their second game in a row, or will they fall back below .500 with a loss to Phillip Rivers, Antonio Gates, and the Chargers?  Voice your opinion on the Razz and Jazz Sports Blog Daily Debate.

  1. JW says:

Jets: Three losses in a row, followed by a less-than-impressive performance against the hapless Dolphins.

    Chargers: Norv Turner.

    I say it’s a push.

  2. Mike Patton says:

Gimme the Chargers in this game. A guy to watch will be RB Ryan Matthews. The running game will be key in this game on both sides.

  3. Matt says:

I will not say this is a must win game but it is certainly a big statement game. The jets need to show that they are coming back to form by beating a quality opponent. The underlining fun part of this game is Rex & Norv. If Norv losses it validates Rex’s statements. Rex beat him in the playoffs and if the jets win on sunday it’s a crazy week ahead for Norv. I think the Jets step up and play a great game on Defense. The offense is what always worries me. just seems as if Schotty just can’t string the right plays together to get the team moving. They need to through the ball down field also to open up the running game. All these slants and crossing patterns keep the offense boxed in. let mark throw 5 or 6 deep passes just to keep thngs balanced. It will be interesting to see how LT plays against his former team.

  4. Jsportsfan says:

I’m taking the Chargers. I think the Jets players are getting tired of Rex Ryan shooting off his mouth. They might turn on him later this season.

  5. I will take the Jets. At home, plus its time to get serious for a playoff run. I am not at all impressed with the chargers. Their 4 wins came against teams that have a combined record of 4-17. Only team they played that is at .500 or above at this point, they lost to by 14. Rex Ryan has built a strong defense that will shut down the chargers offense and look for them to use a similar offensive scheme like they used last week to help compliment sanchez’s strengths.

    • J.B. Knox says:

I agree with CJ!!!! Chargers havent beat anybody yet, in fact teams they’ve beaten are a combined 4-17. They struggle mightily against teams that play a physical style of defense. Their most glaring weakness is in the Red-Zone. They are one of the most inefficient teams inside the opps 20. Check the game vs the Dolphins. Yes their yardage gained looks inpressive, but FGs don’t get it done in this game.

What’s the deal with Mulligan (TE) of Jets anyways? He’sfrom Maine which is where i reside and I’m always caught off guard by the fact that the Jets dont use more 2TE sets. The Pats, who beat SD 35-21 absolutely destroyed the undersized LBs and DBs of San Diego with this scheme. Jets offense also has struggled and become very Vanilla. No Brad Smith has killed them this year as they have become less creative (no direct snaps, no reverses, no wildcat, less return yards).

Can’t wait to see the game though with such a weak schedule on Sunday.
