The New York Knicks got off to a phenomenal start of the 2012-2013 season, but after winning four straight to raise they record to 18-5, they have been under .500, dropping 6 of 11. The New York Knicks lost their most recent game to the Boston Celtics, a home game many expected the team to win, especially with the Celtics missing All-Star Rajon Rondo, who was suspended for one game. The Knicks, after starting the season at home 10-0, have now lost four out of seven home games as well.
Carmelo Anthony also lost his cool, going to the Celtics locker room and even their bus to confront Celtics power forward Kevin Garnett. Garnett’s talk during the game got to Carmelo in a huge way. Carmelo didn’t speak to the media after the game, the first time he has done so in nearly to seasons.
The Knicks have a tough back-to-back at the end of the week, travelling to Indiana to take on the Pacers Thursday night, then hosting the Chicago Bulls Friday night. The Knicks have lost both games to Chicago this season, and their last matchup here at the Garden was so physical, Carmelo said he has it marked on his calendar. I get the feeling that he now also has the next game against the Boston Celtics marked on his calendar too. It is Thursday, January 24, 2013, in Boston, so mark it on yours as well.
In four games thus far this season, Amar’e Stoudemire has a total of nine rebounds. This is absolutely unacceptible. Stoudemire, already not the best rebounder, has been even worse through his first four. Perhaps he is hesitant to mix it up, fearful of another injury, but 2.3 rebounds, even in limited minutes, is awful! If he is going to get crucial minutes on the floor, this is unacceptable. If not, Amar’e will be on the bench during crunch time.
