Aly Raisman Strive for Gold in Life by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

I had a chance to speak to Olympian gymnast Aly Raisman recently at the 33rd Annual Thurman Munson Awards dinner recently. Raisman, as many will remember, was a member of the group nicknamed The Fierce Five that won gold for the US Women’s Gymnastics team during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with Gabby Douglas, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber. Aly, who was the captain of the team, also won individual gold in the floor routine, and earned a third medal, a bronze, on the balance beam.

With competitive gymnastics behind her, Aly Raisman now strives for gold in her non-sports life with volunteerism playing a huge part. Check out the video below.
